3. Get a Full-Time Job

After finding a job, switch to a work visa or the Blue Card from the job-seeker visa. The salary should be around €43,800 per year. For some fields, it can be around €39,682. The Blue Card requires a minimum annual salary of approximately €43,800 (as of 2025) or €39,682 for shortage occupations (like IT or Engineering).

4. Convert to EU Blue Card or Apply for Permanent Residency

You can apply for permanent residency after 33 months on the Blue Card. If you could speak German at B1 level, then you can apply after 21 months.
